If you find yourself in need of an RTU and no one has one in stock or the lead times are longer than the customer can bear, there is a product worth considering. This will come to a question of application, but below are a few ideas.
The product that can help you here would be to consider a Fujitsu VRF system. This could be a major upgrade for your customer. Not only for efficiency but for comfort as well. We don't have to worry about over cooling or overheating a space when there's milder temperatures and we don't have to worry about short cycling the unit causing a shorter lifespan. The office spaces make an excellent candidate for VRF. Since VRF is inherently zoned, it gives your customer the ability to control all aspects of there space. The office space we can offer basically two types of systems and that would be individual zones. Or we could use smaller air handlers and distribute over a larger space. They still gives a little bit of zoning but keeping down cost of units installed.
Depending on the space as well, we can also take care of larger spots. Fujitsu has all the way up to an 8 ton air handler. These air handlers can then be twinned to make a 16 ton air handler. So we could throw a few of these twins in a few spots and we can replace a large variety of rooftops.
It's definitely going to be more costly, but you may be able to hit on all the pain points that your customer has about their environment and they may consider going this route. And another big benefit is you get to do a high-end project job and if you do it well you will have probably calls to do more.
