Considering a Multi-Zone Installation? VRF May Be the Better Fit

When planning a multi-zone HVAC installation, it's important to account for room size and equipment capacity. With Fujitsu’s H-Series mini-split systems, the smallest available indoor unit is 7,000 BTU. While this may seem compact, many multi-zone applications involve rooms that are too small for this capacity.

Installing an oversized unit in a small space can lead to short cycling—where the unit turns on and off frequently—especially during summer months. This not only reduces efficiency and comfort but also hampers proper dehumidification. In milder, shoulder seasons, short cycling may leave rooms feeling cooler than desired, as the system doesn’t run long enough to maintain a consistent temperature.

Fujitsu’s VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) system offers a solution. It supports indoor units as small as 4,000 BTU, available in various styles including wall mount, ceiling cassette, slim duct, and floor mount. These lower-capacity units are ideal for small rooms, ensuring better runtime, improved humidity control, and overall enhanced comfort.

Choosing VRF for your multi-zone project provides greater flexibility and helps deliver a system that performs reliably across all room sizes.
